Do I need an account to use Kerygma?
No account is needed for the local Free workflow. Sign in only if you want the Free 35 min/week online transcription allowance or Pro and Plus features such as unlimited cloud transcription, NDI/OBS output, PDF export, and team features.
What happens after my 14-day trial?
You keep Pro/Plus features as long as your subscription is active. If you cancel during the trial, you're never charged. If you cancel after, the upgrade stays active until the end of your current billing period.
Monthly or annual?
Both work. Annual gives you a real discount — Pro is £120/year (vs £180 if you paid monthly) and Plus is £250/year (vs £360 monthly). You can switch between monthly and annual from Account → Manage subscription at any point.
What's the difference between Pro's AI and Plus's Claude Sonnet?
Pro runs a local language model on your laptop's GPU to judge ambiguous matches — fast, free of cloud costs, but needs a decent NVIDIA card. Plus skips the local model entirely and uses Anthropic's Claude Sonnet over the cloud (we proxy the key — you don't need an Anthropic account). It's smarter, works on any laptop, and keeps your GPU free for transcription.
Can I switch between Pro and Plus?
Yes. Open Account → Manage subscription. Stripe handles prorated upgrades and downgrades automatically.
Does it work without the internet?
Yes. The Free tier ships with local Whisper transcription that works fully offline after install. Free also includes 35 min/week of online Deepgram transcription when you sign in. Pro and Plus cloud features need internet, but the local Whisper fallback always works as a backup if your connection drops mid-service.
What hardware do I need?
Any reasonably modern Windows laptop. An NVIDIA GPU with 4 GB+ VRAM is recommended for fast local transcription. 8 GB RAM minimum, 16 GB ideal. macOS support is in development for Q3 2026.
What about my congregation's data?
Local Whisper transcription stays on your laptop. Free's 35 min/week online transcription and paid cloud transcription send audio to Deepgram only while a session is actively running; transcripts are not retained after the service ends. We don't sell or share anything.
